Dr John McCarthy MB, B.Ch.B. A.O

John graduated from the National University of Ireland. He worked in a number of hospital posts in Ireland and England prior to emigration to Australia. John’s experience in General Practice is very broad. His first experiences in Australia were in rural Victoria and New South Wales before he moved to the Cocos Islands for 5 years in 1971. John came to Albany for 5 years before going to the Celebes (Indonesia) for 4 years. Since then he has worked in Alice Springs and Darwin in the NT and had a number of regional appointments including working with several Aboriginal Medical Services in WA as well as suburban practices in Perth.

Dr Sue Jackson MBBS FRACGP

Sue trained at The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London, she worked in General practice, and was involved in the vocational training of GPs in England prior to emigrating to Australia in 1992 Sue has extensive experience in general practice with a particular interest in minor surgery, women’s and youth health. For the last 8 years Sue has been working with marginalised and street based populations in Perth. She has been involved extensively with both local mental health services and non-government organisations working to improving the physical health of individuals living with mental health problems. Sue is passionate about improving basic health and lifestyle of marginalized populations by working in collaboration with other agencies and by raising the awareness of other health professionals to the barriers experienced by these groups in accessing appropriate health care.

Dr Vicky Tee MBBS (University of Melbourne) 1997; DRANZCOG 2001; FRACGP 2003

Vicky completed her medical degree at The University of Melbourne in 1997. Her subsequent career in general practice work took her to rural Victoria, to outback NSW with a stint with the RFDS for 2 years, and to remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory and Queensland. She came to know people and communities with difficulties accessing medical services due to various barriers of distance and culture. Having settled in Perth and working in general practice, she has now joined the team at Mobile GP. She seeks to improve the wellbeing of those marginalised in our society and believes there is much work to be done.
